We are proud to launch the African Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (AfATAP) Online Conference – the first since the establishment of the Association in 2019. This Conference was planned for 2020 but was postponed due to COVID-19 and now hosted fully online in 2021. We are also happy to announce that Absa bank has confirmed its sponsorship for this event. Topics to be addressed range from Insider threat programs and threat assessment in the corporate environment to large scale threats such as mass shootings in the education context, cyber extortion, and terrorism.   

Speakers from across the globe, representing the private sector, Google, PWC, Deloitte, and tertiary institutions have been secured. We have designed the program to allow significantly time to each speaker to discuss the topics in-depth, thereby maximizing the experience for attendees. Through this conference, AfATAP hopes to grow its footprint across the African continent, and work towards its goals of developing the profession of threat assessment and threat management on the continent.  

The AfATAP’s Inaugural Online Conference will take place online from 16 to 17 November 2021, and will be hosted in partnership with our sponsor, ABSA Bank.
