WHAT IS THE MISSION OF THE
ADDICTION PRACTITIONERS FORUM

The APF's mission is to provide learning and networking opportunities for initial-contact and therapeutic professionals, as well as to promote a comprehensive and integrated SUD treatment model in South Africa. As a result, SANCA has formed a collaboration with the International Technology Transfer Centre (ITTC) and the SA Chapter of the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP), with the goal of empowering the workforce through networking, training, and seminars. These individuals play a critical role in matching service users/clients/patients with the appropriate care.

Diagnosis is critical for patients to receive competent and high-quality mental health care. As a result, the APF aspires to integrate all resources so that services can be provided collaboratively rather than individually.

SANCA thoroughly examined the perspectives and requirements presented by participants and stakeholders at the most recent ADDICTION 2021 Conference. A deeper dive into preventative and treatment measures, as well as professional capacity building in the treatment of substance use disorders, has been requested on several occasions. The goal is to keep the momentum going building up to the 2nd ADDICTION Conference on June 27-29, 2023. As a result, SANCA is delighted to announce that in the years between ADDICTION Conferences, the APF will aid in the progress of the change movement.
