PURPOSE

Change Leadership and Innovation are systematic approaches. Knowledge of these business imperatives is key to the event industry's survival during this time of extreme disruption. It touches in equal measures on businesses continuity as it does on the business of events. This unusual situation requires re-look of our business through a different lens. We cannot continue to do as we did before. 

Event Architecture Breakthrough Innovation will take a narrow (because we don't have much time) deep dive (to understand the fundamentals) into proven processes to achieve success. We will also explore the current challenges facing the entertainment industry and why it is so difficult to make the transition to virtual performances and then when we do return to in-person events, what can we expect to find at venues. We will be in conversation with our global business event industry's foremost authority on neurosciences to explore our audience's changing needs.

Our expert contributors will be connecting with you from South Africa, Australia and the United States. They are volunteering their time and knowledge freely to our industry and are looking forward to meeting you in our virtual room on Wednesday, 17 June 2020 at 10:00. PROGRAMME OUTLINE

A FUTURE FOCUSED ENGAGEMENT

The focus of this forthcoming virtual engagement will be different from the usual Event Architecture content. Although the programme has been curated for the business events industry, it is equally relevant for the broader industry and even other sectors. We will also gain insights from some thought leaders outside of our industry.

Our world is rapidly changing. The present and persisting question is how do we ensure business continuity during this time of disruption and destruction? We need leadership with an understanding of change management, insight of people's changing needs, an understanding of and the ability to innovate. This is the inspiration for the planned Event Architecture Breakthrough Innovation On AIR engagement. We aim to attract insights with relevant and tangible value.

Claudelle will share her insights about leading change. Eli will introduce systematic inventive thinking as a process of innovation. Breakthrough Innovation is about finding solutions to challenges and changing needs within our ‘Closed World’. Mandla will introduce TEDA and the opportunities offered by the City of Tshwane that inspires excellence. Lisa will share her insights about compliance and licence considerations when contracting artists for virtual and in-person performances. Esmare will lead an international convention centre panel of executives - Bronwen, Shaun and Taubie - to gain insights on what to expect from leading venues post pandemic. Janet and Pieter will explore the changing needs of people attending and participating in events. 

This program is aligned with the Event Industry Council International Standards and participants who need to maintain their professional certifications by attending professional development engagements will qualify for Continuing Education Units, 2.85 clock hours.
