Africa Evidence Week 2021 is a virtual celebration of African evidence-informed decision-making excellence. Join us on 13-17 September 2021 and share any digital content to promote and showcase your work across all the Africa Evidence Network's online platforms.

The inaugural Africa Evidence Week 2019 organically generated overwhelming attention from our stakeholders on Twitter with over 4,651,218 impressions and 2,493 engagements on social platforms in under seven days. With digital content supplied by members and curated by the Africa Evidence work secretariat, Africa Evidence Week is a true reflection of how only together, can evidence-informed decision-making become a reality.

Africa Evidence Week 2021 aims to showcase and promote the state of evidence-informed decision-making on the continent, specifically highlighting the involvement of Africa’s decision-makers.

We want you to participate in Africa Evidence Week 2021 because a celebration is best done together. To participate, we're inviting you to share blog posts, Twitter chats, reports, online events, stories, and any other digital content that

  • Highlights where African decision-makers are spearheading or engaging with evidence-use efforts
  • Showcases the diversity of the African evidence ecosystem
  • Promotes African evidence-informed decision-making innovation
  • Illustrates and promotes cases where decision-makers have used or supported the institutionalisation of evidence
  • Advocates for emerging evidence organisations’ and evidence champions’ stories
  • Builds collaborations with other AEN members

Use this sign-up portal  to indicate what content you would like to contribute during Africa Evidence Week 2021. The network relations liaison will then be in touch to collect the online content from each participant before the submission deadline of 20 August 2021.  Be sure that all your content reaches us by 20 August 2021 17:00 (South Africa Standard Time) to ensure we can include your activity in the Week’s programme.

The only screening criteria to be upheld by participants in Africa Evidence Week 2021 is that all content related to the Week should remain free of charge and relevant to the evidence-informed decision-making ecosystem in Africa.

We have produced a number of guides to support you in producing content that is exciting to engage with. We recommend using the below guides when preparing your online content.
