Prof Goodman Sibeko, MBChB, PhD

Head of Addiction Psychiatry at the University of Cape Town
Associate Professor Goodman Sibeko, MBChB, PhD serves as Head of Addiction Psychiatry at the University of Cape Town. His work has focused on interventions using non-specialist workers in the management of severe mental illness, and he has a developing research portfolio focused on task-sharing models for the treatment of harmful substance use, mental health and HIV. He serves as Director of the South Africa International Technology Transfer Centre, and as Steering Committee Member for ISSUP South Africa and ICUDDR South Africa



        

     Mr Roger Weiman

Director of SANCA Central Eastern Cape in South Africa

Director of SANCA Central Eastern Cape in South Africa, provincial representative for SANCA National in the Eastern Cape, member of the Treatment portfolio and the convenor of the marketing portfolio for SANCA National organisation. Member of the Provincial Substance Abuse Forum.

In Country coordinator and current President of ISSUP South African Chapter, Member of the ISSUP Global Advisory committee.

Educated at Rhodes University & Stellenbosch University in South Africa, Currently studying a Masters In Science of Psychology through Liverpool University.


Dr Johann van Zyl,  MBChB, MBA

Founder owner of Clinical Governance Services

Johann has 12 years’ experience as a general practitioner coupled with more than 20 years’ experience in health management, managed healthcare, health analytics and clinical and procedure coding. He specializes in clinical and procedure coding systems and the clinical analysis of health claims data. Johann advises medical schemes, healthcare service providers, medical practitioners and corporate clients on the development, implementation and monitoring of clinical risk management strategies and has a passion for finding mechanisms that will ensure access to appropriate care leading to optimal health outcomes. Johann has a particular interest in the measurement of the utilization of healthcare eservices, the quality of care provided and received, and the associated health outcomes. He has been the lead consultant to Health Quality Assessment (HQA) for the last eleven years and has been instrumental in the development of HQA into an authoritative provider of health quality information


      Mrs Adrie Vermuelen

SANCA National - Coordinator

Adrie Vermeulen is a social worker with a Master’s degree in Occupational Social work and has 26 years experienced in the prevention and treatment of substance use disorders. She is the national coordinator of SANCA National from the 2nd of January 2019 and serves on the steering committee of ISSUP South Africa Chapter as well as on the advisory board of ATTC.


Mrs Nanette Minaar

Founder & director of Kaleidoscope Development & Training
Nanette Minnaar is the founder and director of Kaleidoscope Development and Training, which specializes in developing and training interventions for disadvantaged groups. Her academic qualifications include Bachelor of Arts in Social Science (1994), Accredited HIV and AIDS master trainer and counselor ETDP SETA (2003), Honours Bachelor of Arts in Social Science in Psychology (2004), Matrix Model Facilitator (2006), Master of Science in Developmental Studies (2007), Post-graduation diploma in Ecometric Assessment (2008) and Traumatic Incident Reduction Facilitator (2009). In March 2021, she earned a second Master's degree in Positive Psychology from UNW (Optentia).
She has 28 years of experience working with vulnerable people, including 11 years as the Chief Social Worker for the Department of Correctional Services, 6 years as the National Training Manager of Khulisa Crime Prevention Initiative, one year as the Social Work Manager of SANCA The Bridge Youth Clinic, and 8 years as the Strategic Programme Development Manager of Khulisa Social Solutions SA and UK. She has been the director of her own company since 2015. She has developed and implemented more than 160 national and international programs for disadvantaged populations with great success.
