CONFERENCE PURPOSE: The ADDICTION 2021 Conference programme will be a true collaboration between all prevention and treatment role players to discuss effective, evidence-based solutions relevant to SUD in the unique African context.

We were looking forward to welcoming you at the ADDICTION 2021 Conference in July. Circumstances have changed dramatically since the President announced a state of disaster in response to the second wave of COVID-19 infections. In light of global challenges associated with COVID-19, the Conference Organising Committee had some tough decisions to consider.  It was decided that, due to the limiting restrictions on the number of people allowed at conferences, the Conference will be held online in 2021. The date remains the same: 21-23 July 2021.  The advantage of an online event is that more delegates from all over the world will be able to attend.  We look forward to engaging with you in the digital space!

This conference will ignite a movement incorporating the special skills and insights of like-minded people who are passionate about finding socially inclusive, responsive and individualized solutions to tackle addiction.

Together, with contributions from academics, medical professionals, civil society, policy makers, law enforcement, activists, service users, and the wide array of public and community-based resources, we can march forward and achieve comprehensive solutions for addictive disorders.
